A Member of DREFF Advisory Committee Presents at WildSpeak

November 15, 2017

Eladio Fernández, Dominican conservation photographer, a naturalist, author and publisher, participates as a special guest and speaker in the 2017 WildSpeak, a renowned international conference on conservation and photography. This annual event is organized by the International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP), institution founded in 2005 to promote cultural and natural conservation through ethical photography. The activities are part of a two-day program held in the U.S. capital, Washington, DC.

Fernández, an ILCP member, has one of the richest image banks on Caribbean flora, fauna, and natural landscapes. His work extends beyond natural subjects and also explores social and cultural subjects from the Caribbean. Eladio’s images have been portrayed in magazines, such as the Wildlife As Canon Sees It ad campaign for National Geographic. Among his publications are: Hispaniola, A Photographic Journey Through Island Biogeography, Orchids of Dominican Republic and Haiti, and Parques Nacionales de la Republica Dominicana.

In the 2017 edition of WildSpeak, Eladio Fernández presented his work on new species of Aristolochia in Hispaniola.

He is a member of DREFF National Advisory Committee.
