PUCMM Students Discuss Who Really Pays the Price of Our Clothes

February 13, 2017

Santo Domingo – Business students of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) in Santo Domingo enjoyed a screening of the film The True Cost on Friday, February 10th, within the framework of the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF)’s Year Round program.

Professor Luis Jansen gave the welcoming remarks and mentioned the importance of the strategic partnership with DREFF to promote the environment and sustainability awareness among their community.

After the film, Maria Victoria Abreu, DREFF’s Programming Director and PUCMM Alumni, started the discussion with the students, who questioned society’s and their own every-day decisions towards really helping or not the planet. Rosy Ruiz, Director of the Bachelor’s Program on Business Administration at PUCMM and professor, also attended the event.

During the event, held at the Auditorio 1 of the Campus Santo Tomás de Aquino of the university, students actively participated in a discussion on the sustainability of the fashion industry worldwide.
