Ice Bear

US - 2013

This is the unique 3D journey of a three-year old bear in his first summer alone. His struggle to survive is set against the biggest story of our generation: climate change. What happens to the polar bear when the ice disappears? Swim alongside the bear as he is forced from his icy home. Discover the mysteries of polar bear navigation that guide him on his epic and ancient migration. Can the polar bear adapt to a warming world? Or is this the twilight of an arctic icon?

Director Bio
Marine naturalist, polar explorer, and award-winning wildlife filmmaker, Adam Ravetch has travelled to the far corners of the earth to capture marine imagery that few others would dare to attempt. He has brought to the screen the unforgettable details of animals‘ lives and their relationship to mankind.

In his pursuit of the ultimate photographic challenge, he journeyed north, and became one of a handful of filmmakers to shoot beneath the Arctic ice cap. He now has two decades of experience working in the brutal, polar environment. He has accomplished fantastic cinematic imagery and spectacular films over a twenty-year career and put his stamp on a number of major Arctic wildlife films, and productions.
