Showcasing the global trends in climate change, peak oil and rising food insecurity that are forcing us confront our industrial agriculture and its contradictions Voices of Transition presents a path to achieving a fair, environmentally sound and fulfilling human existence, where soil and man can support one another in a balanced and sustainable system. This inspiring documentary takes us to France, England and Cuba where communities are moving toward local resilience. Instead of succumbing to the crisis brought about by bleak global trends, these people are using the challenge to create a more cooperative, healthier and richer life. These “voices” tell us of a future society where our deserts will once again be living soil, where fields will be introduced into our cities and where independence from oil will help us to live a richer, more fulfilling life.

    Biography of Director Nils Aguilar:

Nils Aguilar is a French documentary filmmaker with a background as a trained sociologist. During his university studies in psychology, sociology and philosophy in Paris, he began working on the direction and production of the crowd-funded documentary Voices of Transition. The film is seen as an inspirational tool to serve the global socio-ecological movements and to help launch new transition initiatives. Numerous educational follow-up projects and “multiplication workshops” are currently being planned. Nils is currently working at a "Think-and-Do-Collective" in Berlin, which brings together direct action, communication and transition research.
