Film SynopsisSet where the ocean kisses the desert, Loreto is a precious jewel, known to some as "the aquarium of the world." A collection of small islands along the gulf side of Baja California Sur, Loreto Bay National Park was the result of the citizens' demand to protect the environment. As this story illustrates, it is possible to keep local fishermen, conservationists and tourists happy along a coastline that had been ravaged by over-fishing.
The film incorporates the voices of all the major stakeholders of the Loreto Marine Park in Baja California Sur, highlighting both the benefits and challenges of development while inviting civic engagement in preservation.

Director/Producer: Ana Salceda
Director's Biography:
For two decades, Ana Salceda has worked as a journalist, academic researcher, strategist, advocate and documentary filmmaker based in the United States, Europe and Latin America. Ms. Salceda is founder and director of her own production company, BelugaSmile, and since 2004 she has been an independent producer and director for Sentience Productions. She has also produced films for COBI and the Sea Studios Foundation. Ms. Salceda is also director of external relations at Centro de Incidencia Ambiental, an environmental consultancy in Panama City. In conducting research and development for her projects, Ms. Salceda's goal is to change people's perceptions of global issues.
She attributes her success to her passion and ability to bring well-informed people together to work on projects that make a difference in people's lives. Ms. Salceda earned a Master's Degree in International Politics and Communications at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and has done coursework in Universal Morality at Harvard University, where she also worked as a researcher for one year. She is a volunteer at the San Francisco Film Festival and the International Wild Life Film Festival.

A real Universal Community leader and spokesman for the core values of the UN Millennium Development Goals as it is the Dominican swimmer Marcos Diaz. He will meet a group of youth, who will have a swimming competition, at La Caleta.
